Rather than a confusing mass of controls we have conceived a stylish and easy to use ‘RotoDial’ user interface making the R1 beautifully simple to operate (This interface will be a feature and trademark on all future Vita Audio products).
The cabinet for the R1 is manufactured from quality fibreboard (a material renowned for its excellent acoustic properties) clad in a choice of two real wood veneers (Cherry Wood and Rich Walnut) or two high gloss lacquers (Dream White and Vita Red).
The softly rounded corners add style and make the unit look and feel beautifully tactile. Most manufacturers use injection moulded plastics but our panels are made from pressed steel for a finish and coolness of touch that’s impossible to create with synthetic materials.
Information relating to broadcasts and set-up is shown through a clear black on white LCD display. When in standby the display is softly lit so it can be easily read at night when used as a bedside alarm radio.
Our attention to detail is shown on the front panel where we have conveniently placed a headphone socket and an input socket so an MP3 player or any other audio device can be easily connected.
On the rear panel we’ve also provided a pair of high quality gold plated phono outputs so the R1 can be used as a DAB/FM tuner in an audio system.
Another unique feature is the R1’s power supply. Rather than the usual heavy and bulky linear type we specified a modern and compact switch mode for improved performance and a constant 12v DC supply with AC voltages ranging from 100-240v.
The beauty of R1 is not just skin deep. Beneath the surface we have carefully combined our long experience of loudspeaker design with state-of-the-art electronics. The result is a remarkable sound quality so whatever your choice of program material the R1 will bring a new level of involvement and enjoyment to your every day radio listening.
